As a child I loved to sketch. At age ten I took oil painting lessons from an artist from New York City. He had retired to my town which is on the southeastern coast of North Carolina.
Later, when I was a young adult I took watercolor classes from an artist from the Netherlands. He had moved to my area.
Throughout my life I have painted whenever I could. I worked outside the home, raised a family and spent many hours riding horses. I had the good fortune to work as a fashion illustrator for a while until photography took over actual art.
I am now retired and painting more. I enjoy painting people and animals but paint an occasional landscape. We moved to Thomson, Georgia and have been a part of the Mac on Main Gallery since it first came into existence.
