Red Skies
Summary
Darkly patinated steel cone containing yet revealing a hollow column of transparent red acrylic. This is topped with a spun brass sphere, drilled with holes into which are inserted three different wires, two brass and one bronze, tightly coiled down on the surface, creating an effect like worm casts on a beach. Red Skies is one of eight largescale works conceived by the artist on the theme of Christ's Passion and its wider relevance to contemporary life.
