Che L'Uom Trae dal Sepolcro / E A Morte il Fura
Francesco Bartolozzi 21 Sep 1727 - 7 Mar 1815
Summary
Winged muscular bearded nude male figure stood on another figure lying across a stone tomb and holding aloft a circular framed image of the profile of a man with tide hair and dress. The figure lying across the tomb has scruffy hair and is barefoot. Building in background to the left and trees to the right. Bartolozzi's flair with engraving tools is evident here, with typical engraved lines used to delineate the scene. Dot and lozenge technique is employed to create tones on the leg of the seated figure, while dots and flicks of the burin add different contours to the calf muscles.
