Portrait of a young woman seen in three quarter profile to the left. Window to the left with a landscape seen beyond. A portrait of Catherine Bunbury, nee Catherine Horneck, who moved from Devon to London following her father's death as a ward of the artist Sir Joshua Reynolds. She married Henry William Bunbury, an artist and caricaturist, in 1771. He was the second son of Sir William Bunbury, 5th Baronet, of an old Norman family in Suffolk. Their second son, Henry Edward Bunbury, was painted by Reynolds in ???. See 'Master Bunbury' 1920.359.
