Summary
Mary Palmer (1750-1820) was the eldest daughter of John Palmer of Torrington and Mary Reynolds, sister of artist Sir Joshua Reynolds with whom she resided and the majority of whose property she inherited. In 1792 she married Sir Murrough O'Brien, Earl of Inchiquin, an Irish peer, soldier and politician. He was created Marquess of Thomond in 1800 because of his support for the Act of Union of Great Britain and Ireland. He was killed by a fall from his horse in 1808. Mary Palmer died of apoplexy in 1820.
