Portrait of Elizabeth Mathew (1746-1781) after Reynolds; whole-length, standing, directed to the left, facing and looking to the front, wearing low dress with pearls, left hand on hip, barking spaniel at her side, landscape and river in the background. Elizabeth Mathew was the second daughter of James Smyth (Smith) of Tinney Park, Co. Wicklow, and MP for Antrim. She married Francis Mathew in 1764, who was created Lord Landaff (1783) after her death.
